People love pictures don't they?

Well, not me. I prefer using my mind and my memory. Sure, memory is as about reliable as Bush's economic policies, but they are certainly much more flexible than pictures or photos.

I am, of course, am alcoholic. But on a side note, I see a lot of people posting pictures or photos on their online blogs of all varieties, races, and religious affliations. And I would be lying if I said I wouldn't judge them for doing so, because anyone who says that they don't intend to judge other people is lying through his teeth.

And this is what I have to say: people who post too many pictures, especially of themselves doing things with their immediate circle of acquintances, are inherently and most undoubtedly narcissistic. Narcissim, as defined by Google, is as follows:

In everyday use outside the field of psychology, the word generally refers to people who just are inordinately fond of themselves, without the pathological connotations.

Maybe it's just me, and I have, without a doubt, that it is merely me. But when I see people posting photos of themselves doing stuff, I can totally here voices in my head along with each pictures. It goes something like this:

LIKE OH MY GOD. THIS WAS LIKE, YOU KNOW, THE MOST FUNNEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE. LIKE, OH MY GOD, LOOK AT THOSE SHOES THAT I BOUGHT. AND BRITNEY WAS LIKE TOTALLY A HOTTIE WEARING THOSE SUNGLASSES. TE-HEHEHEHEHEHEHE, LOL, I HEART MY HOMEGIRLS. ROFLCOPTER

It makes me want to throw up.

And also to me, posting pictures/photos seem likes a blatant attempt at attracting readership. Well, if you know me, then you'd know that I could give a shit less about attracting readership. In fact, every time someone leaves a comment in here, I am really, really, really surprised. Because I always think, and still do, that no one ever reads this shit. I mean, why should they? If I were anyone but myself, I wouldn't read it either. That's the whole fucking point of this blog: it's meant to be a private enterprise. So why post pictures when no one's going to see them? Besides, I'm doing you guys a favor, because you don't want to see me anyways. You might just go blind.

But you see, my friends, I've had a sudden change of heart, something similar to what happened to Paul the Apostle when he fell off his ass (both the animal and the anatomical part) when Jesus appeared to him. I've had this vision, and I feel that I am compelled to share it with you. It describes my feelings about posting pictures.

Yes, leave it to me to post a picture which lampoons the practice of posting pictures. But if I'm not already very well aware of the hypocrisy of my own actions, then what kind of cynical, bitter bastard would I be?

Oh I can hear it now already, the waves of waves of indigant complaints and whatnot. Hey, hey, listen, and listen close. I don't care, and besides, why take this shit seriously anyways. Go out, have some fun, play some ball, get laid, whatever man.
